About Lower Queen Street Health
Lower Queen Street Health is a multimillion dollar development, initiated by a group of local investors involved in the medical field who have considerable collective experience in commercial property and medical centre development.
Delivering on the vision to provide comprehensive, user friendly, modern and quality health services to the community, and within the community, has taken a group of professionals working cooperatively and closely together. The unifying thread for all – investors, architect, lawyer, accountant, quantity surveyor, builders, financiers – is the commitment and a belief in what we are doing.
The owners recognise from both their varied personal experience and from research, that the benefits of co-locating medical facilities offering integrated healthcare in the face of an increasing and ageing population, are compelling. In effect, a one stop shop is created which is appealing to patients and enables satisfying and seamless interaction among the health professionals. Commercially it is a successful model with economies of scale, and the benefits accrued to all by patients logically using various providers under the same roof.
Richmond is the major centre of the Tasman District, fast growing, relatively underserviced, major new impetus with re-zoning and new traffic management and the new bypass to Motueka will accelerate regional development.
Vision Becomes Reality:
The result of five years of planning is a user-friendly, one-stop shop, complex – a modern, attractive, two-level 2500m2 building situated on a site of approximately 4000m2 with plenty of car parking, centrally located and next door to a retirement village. The building is low-rise and environmentally friendly with an abundance of glass and communal space.
We have created a landmark centre which will become the destination of choice for patients and become recognised as a centre where welcoming, user friendly and highly professional health services are provided. We envisage the synergies amongst the tenants will lead to natural growth of the development, both structurally and over time.
We believe this this is a model for now and a model for the future which fits with the articulated government vision of better, sooner, more convenient Health Care.
We believe there are excellent opportunities in the Nelson-Tasman region to work in partnership. We have the enthusiasm, desire and knowledge to look at innovative ways of how we can best provide health services to the people of our region. We have a desire to forge stronger links with the DHB, PHO and other health providers so as to work with them to provide an integrated service across the community. Hereby we can get the efficiencies in terms of cost and accessibility which we all desire. The appropriate secondary work can be performed in the top class NMDHB hospital facilities and services unimpeded by the primary work which can be done in the community, such as in our excellent multidisciplinary Health Centre in Richmond integrating with the existing primary facilities and services in the community.
We wish also to maintain and develop strong relationships with national and local authorities, such as Local Councils for Emergency Disaster planning and backup, Ministry of Health, ACC.
